Title of Presentation:

DEVELOPING MEASURES FOR FAMILY CENTERED CARE FOR DIVERSE FAMILIES

Despite evidence that family-centered care improves patient satisfaction, safety, and outcomes, there is currently no standard way to measure FCC using medical records. In this workshop, we will present the work being done by our Stanford team and try to harness the perspectives of PPA attendees to build feedback and grow our development of measures for FCC. We will present the various ways FCC has been defined and how it might be measured, alongside new research that suggests that racial, ethnic and other disparities prevent the families from being fully integrated as partners in care in the NICU.
