FOUNDER & PRESIDENT | NICU Helping Hands
Lisa is the Founder and President of NICU Helping Hands, a non-profit organization in Fort Worth, Texas, that develops hospital- and community-based projects to provide education and support for families with babies in the NICU, during their transition from hospital to home, and in the event of an infant loss. The mother of four boys, Lisa is well aware of challenges that come with parenthood under the best of circumstances. Married to a neonatologist, she understands the struggles facing NICU parents. Driven by the belief that no family should face the birth of a critically ill infant alone, Lisa continues to develop programs both locally and nationally to support NICU families. Whether it’s financial assistance for families struggling to pay for basic necessities of life due to medical bills or providing educational resource materials, Lisa is committed to meeting the needs of families who ask for help.
Title of Presentation:
THE INDISPENSABLE ANCHOR OF YOUR NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION: RECRUITING, MANAGING AND LEADING YOUR TEAM OF VOLUNTEERS
Is your organization investing daily in its indispensable anchor? Do you know what that anchor is? If not, you are drifting away from a tremendous resource that is available to you and to the clients you serve. Running programs, raising funds and serving clients can be difficult and sometimes impossible for nonprofit organizations of various sizes without a strong, well-trained base of volunteers. This presentation will provide participants with timely information on how to build a strong, well-trained base of volunteers.
“Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless.” – Sherry Anderson
